Dawn Rancka
Assistant Director of Music Ministries
Dawn is the director for the children's Cherub Choir and QuarterNotes Choir, and for the Branderbells Handbell Choir. The Brandermill Church is in the start up phase for two new handbell ensembles for children and youth/adult, which Dawn will also direct.
Dawn grew up in Virginia and met her husband Mike while attending Old Dominion University. They have one daughter, Kate, who is active in SPARC (School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community) and GRCC (Greater Richmond Children's Choir). Dawn served St. Mark's UMC in Midlothian as Assistant Director and Interim Director of Music and then served Bethany Christian Church in Richmond as the Director of Music just last year before coming to The Brandermill Church. Dawn and Mike both work at MacPro Solutions, an Apple Computer Specialist in the west end. Outside of music, there isn't much free time, but since Kate is beginning her 9th year as a Girl Scout, Dawn will begin her 5th year as a Girl Scout Leader. Along with her family, Dawn enjoys all things related to music and particularly loves Broadway shows.
Dawn earned her Associates Degree in Fine Arts from Ferrum College and her Bachelor's Degree from Old Dominion University, majoring in music education.
