Adult Sunday School Classes
Please feel free to come to any class, even if you didn’t attend the first class period!
A study of the Book of John by Woodrow Geier, continues with the last half of this book. Taken from the Genesis-to-Revelations series, this study uses a three-dimensional approach: reading the actual text of the Bible; interpreting the meaning of the passage by considering such aspects as ancient customs, locations of places, and the meanings of words; and connecting the meaning of the Scripture with our own lives. This class, lead by Ed Arnaudin and Carol Beth Buchanan, meets in the Conference Room.
Ethics, Equality and Social Justice class explores how ethics influence our actions toward Social Justice problems, such as race, women’s issues and other topics to be chosen by class participants. Guest leaders, from within and outside our church, will present their own perspectives during this portion of the class. Bank Greene, Bill Harp, and Dolly Pakurar lead this course, which meets in the Multi-Purpose Room.
Parenting with Love and Logic, by Foster Cline and Jim Fay, is a DVD series on parenting pre-school children. If you want to raise kids who are self-confident, motivated and ready for the real world, take advantage of this win-win approach to parenting. Your kids will win because they’ll learn responsibility and the logic of life by solving their own problems. And parents will win because they will establish healthy control – without resorting to anger, threats, nagging or exhausting power struggles. Ginny Brenner teaches this course, which will meet in the Multi-Purpose Room.
